About Me & My Practice in Grange-Over-Sands

Welcome, and thank you for visiting Rachael Mary Counselling

My name is Rachael McSherry and I am a counsellor based in Grange-Over-Sands, Cumbria.

I am a Person-centred counsellor with an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Cumbria.

A difficult health experience took my life in a new direction, changing my day to day life and my career. This experience gave me a greater understanding of loss; loss of self and identity.

I also volunteer as a listener with the Samaritans and volunteer as a counsellor within the charity sector.

I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, coming to me with a diverse range of problems. As a fully-qualified counsellor I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their code of ethics.

I have availability on a Monday and Friday, please contact me for specific times.

Making the decision to see a counsellor is a big step to take - but it can be a positive one. Please read on to find out more about how I could help you.

How can counselling help?

As a person-centred counsellor, I will offer you a quiet confidential space at my Grange practice for you to tell your story and explore your innermost thoughts and feelings without judgement or advice. We will work in order for you to discover your own solutions, leading to a better understanding of yourself, becoming the person you truly are rather than the person you feel you should be.

As a counsellor I have experienced clients struggling with many issues including, depression, anxiety, stress and trauma.

Counselling can also help people to let go of past issues and feelings associated with the past. The telling of life stories and the sharing of your inner most feelings with someone you feel safe with can be a great relief.

Speak in Confidence

I offer you a warm, safe, trusting environment in order for you to be able to freely express your inner most thoughts and feelings, enabling you to entrust me with your story. You will be listened to sensitively and without judgement.

How does sharing your problems help

Many people face difficulties at some point in their life, whether its relationship troubles, depression, anxiety, or stress. Sharing your experiences with a counsellor will help you to gain a better insight and understanding of yourself and the feelings you are experiencing at this particular time, helping you to work towards managing them differently as you move forward in your life.
